Anna Frolova McCann has been based in the West End of Edinburgh for over 15 years now, and in addition to private tuition has taught in a number of Edinburgh schools. She has extensive experience in teaching all ages, from very young children over students to mature adults. Anna Frolova McCann is a professional cellist born in Russia. She holds a Masters degree (with distinction) from the highly regarded Odessa State Conservatoire in the former USSR in three categories: as orchestral soloist, as chamber ensemble musician and for  conservatoire teaching (cello).

Before her Masters, she completed a first class honours degree in cello teaching and orchestral music at the Tchaikovsky Music College, Crimea/Ukraine.

She has extensive orchestral experience (9 years as principal cellist with the Ukrainian Music Theatre, Crimea,  and with the Yevpatoria Chamber Orchestra) and taught cello at the Tchaikovsky Music College Simferopol (Crimea) for many years.

She settled in the West End of Edinburgh in 2002, and has been teaching in a number of schools as well as privately since then.

In addition to her busy teaching schedule,  Anna regularly performed with various chamber groups and as soloist in the UK and abroad.
